This page explains what data htmltowebflow.app and the HTML to Webflow Chrome extension ("we") collect and why.
Your code stays in your browser
The HTML, CSS and Tailwind you paste into the converter is processed entirely in your browser, inside an isolated frame. It is not sent to or stored on our servers. If your code references external resources such as Google Fonts or images, your browser loads them from those services while rendering the preview.
The Chrome extension
The extension converts code inside your browser, the same way the website does. It does not send your code, captured pages or Webflow projects to us or anyone else, and it doesn't collect analytics.
- History. Your recent conversions are saved in the extension's local storage on your computer, so you can insert them again. You can delete them from the History tab at any time, and they're removed when you uninstall the extension.
- Webflow Designer. The extension runs on
*.design.webflow.comonly to insert the sections you convert into the page you have open. It doesn't read or change anything else in your project. - Capturing a section. When you click Pick a section, Chrome asks for permission to access that website. The extension then reads the section you click and the page's styles, and converts them locally. Nothing is uploaded.
- htmltowebflow.app. On our own website the extension tells the page it's installed, so you can send a conversion from the website to the extension.
When you uninstall the extension, Chrome opens a short optional survey on our website. Your answer is recorded with our analytics, without any personal information.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the converter is used, for example how many conversions succeed or fail and how long they take. These events contain counts and categories only, never the content of your code. PostHog may set a cookie or use local storage to recognize returning visitors. Session recording is turned off.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account.
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use your code to train models.
